Youth Climate Leaders

The Youth Climate Leaders aims to provide a unique experience: one trip around the world to learn more about climate change in theory, understand it in practice, and work on hands-on projects with other young people to start their careers as climate leaders. We want to shift the image of young people as "leaders of the future" to the leaders of today. We are empowering a diverse group of young leaders from all over the world with leadership and entrepreneurial skills to be used right now to address climate change. Moreover, we provide concrete opportunities for participants to start their careers in the field of climate change, which is a field very difficult to enter without connections. The YCL program has a direct impact through the innovative solutions for both mitigation and adaptation problems that participants will implement on the local level through the group project component. Secondly, the program's impact will be maximized by the impact that each participant will have on reducing GHG emissions throughout their careers in the field. The indirect impact will be driven by all the contents produced by YCLs during their experience such as articles, interviews, videos and other materials. We are also working on proposals for an online course in the future, as well as for launching YCL Hubs worldwide. Our goal is to train more than one million people worldwide by the end of the decade, thereby increasing the number of qualified people working to address Climate Change.
