The project increases the sustainability of agricultural supply chains operating between Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, and the UK by delivering new forms of evidence derived from satellite imagery. Crop monitoring and forecasting products at farm, regional and national scale support agri-businesses and advisory services to adapt farming practices. SENCE natural capital evaluation uses satellite data to show where the local environment is working well and has increased stakeholder understanding of the right places to take action to address issues such as flooding to build resilience against climate change and restore landscapes. Capacity building supports the integration of solutions within organizations. This broad approach increases skill levels, ensures satellite-space solutions benefit all growers, supports the sound use of natural resources, and helps safeguard biodiversity.
