Every year, farmers in Nepal experience significant post-harvest loss, which can exceed as high as 50% under adverse conditions. The majority of these farmers are rural & smallholder, and unable to capitalize on their production due to lack of market access, high transportation cost, and lack of processing facilities. Khetipati Organics works directly with more than 1000 smallholder farmers to minimize the post-harvest loss through value addition and market creation. They specialize in cold storage and advanced dehydration techniques that allow them to extend the shelf-life of a wide range of locally sourced perishable products such as fruits, vegetables and spices, and provide them with global market access.
Khetipati Organics is a women-led social enterprise established with the mission to provide financial stability to smallholder farmers by minimizing their post-harvest loss and providing them with a stable price and reliable market through value addition. They work directly with the farmers and specialize in cold-storage, grading and advanced dehydration techniques to add value to rural high-value horticulture produce.
