Inuka! Community-Led Security Approaches to Violent Extremism in Coastal Kenya

Inuka! empowers ordinary people in four coastal counties of Kenya to develop locally-owned strategies to prevent violent extremism. In a context of deep mistrust between citizens and security forces, aggravated by a fishing ban that jeopardized the survival of communities, Inuka! rebuilt relationships between security actors and the people they serve, and deployed innovative tech-based solutions to address and reduce security risks, including those posed by Al-Shabaab and other violent actors.
