Frequently Asked Questions

Why this event?

With the region plagued by extreme violence, humanitarian catastrophe, hatred, and injustice, and the two-state solution facing existential threats, it is time to take decisive action. The Paris Peace Forum, founded in 2018, responds to the call of civil society organizations and offers itself as a “neutral” actor capable of hosting an event at short notice, with experience in multi-stakeholder work on a wide range of global governance issues.

A natural partner for the event, France’s Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) is the “home of civil society” and is offering its premises for these meetings.

When and where will this event take place?

The event will take place at the Palais d’Iéna, which houses the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE), the assembly that represents French civil society organizations and involves citizens in democratic life, providing input to the French Parliament and Government. The event will mainly take place on June 13th. Other events will be organized on June 12 and 14 on the initiative of civil society organizations.

Why the Paris Peace Forum?

Since 2018, the Paris Peace Forum has been a platform to originate, shape & share multi-actor responses towards global peace & sustainable prosperity. By convening key decision-makers and fostering collaboration between governments, international organizations, businesses, and civil society, we ensure that diplomacy is not just discussed but reinvented to meet the demands of a changing world.

At its major annual autumn meeting, the Forum always takes major crises into account and makes room for solutions-based discussions on major geopolitical challenge.

What is the program for this event? Who develops the program?

With a steering committee involving the main Israeli and Palestinian civil society organizations committed to peace, the Paris Peace Forum is working on a program that will address all the major issues surrounding the two-state solution. This program will be made public in the coming days on the Paris Peace Forum website.

What is the involvement of the French Presidency and Government?

This event is hosted by the Paris Peace Forum in partnership with the Economic, Social and Environmental Council. The President of the French Republic and the French Government support any initiative in favor of a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Aren't you naive? With the conflict continuing in the region, what hope is there for peace?

We are committed to the ongoing search for lasting peace in the Middle East, whatever the difficulties. Just as France is co-chairing with Saudi Arabia the High-Level International Conference (to be held June 17-20, 2025, at the United Nations in New York), the Paris Peace Forum aims to bring together all civil society actors committed to this peace.

Who is funding this event?

The Paris Peace Forum is hosting this event: its funding is public and can be consulted in its annual report. If the conference receives additional funding, the list of donors will be made public on our website.

Will Palestinian and Israeli actors be able to receive funding to travel to Paris? What about visas?

The Paris Peace Forum does not cover travel expenses. However, we are working with public and private actors to identify funding that could facilitate the participation of all the actors we are seeking.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs may be able to facilitate the visa process for guests.

How can I get accredited?
