The project aims to ensure that media outlets and journalists can produce quality public interest content that reaches larger audiences, including the most marginalized communities, during the Covid-19 pandemic in Sub-Saharan Africa. Free Press Unlimited provides subgrants to create content and conduct fact-checking and educational broadcasting. Knowledge-sharing platforms have been established to facilitate learning among media and journalists. The initiative also tracks attacks against journalists and fosters reforms to guarantee press freedom.
